    Re: Hardboard poster.

I have never seen this before... but Ford printing did a lot of in-house printing for their plants. Judging from the wall poster on the photo that JohnA found of that plant wall, this may have been an in-house print.

Later on in the blog, is another photo wall art showing that the Thunderbird was "coming" some of the photos may date back to 2000 or 2001.

I googled 'Ford vegetation' and didn't see any images that displayed where a plant would hang a poster....

Fun find Martin! I think you got Paul's attention with the red car. The car color got my attention in the 'More Soul' poster that hangs in my garage. And now thanks to Harry I've got the Studio watercolor framed on the wall too. I'm adding more chrome to Black Beauty right after Zumba this morning...will it ever end?

Probably not. Its that stage in life where we're all bound to stay a little chubby regardless of how much exercise we have...

ok. Looking thru my files from 2005 when I took a tour of the Wixom Plant. After the tour drove off to Pennsylvania for the all Ford car show at Carlisle. Lots of retros showed up and someone, don't recall who, displayed that Bulldog poster. I took a photo of it at that time but never posted it. Forgot all about it.

Check post # 15 Dot, Should be talking with Tony in the next day or so as I have his number now . He was quite involved with the Retro attendance at the All Ford show in Carlisle so most likely you saw the same poster .

                  Re: Hardboard poster.

Talked with Tony Barrand this morning ( active TBN member a few years back ) and he informed me that this poster came from the Wixom plant where he found it in one of the bins of discarded materials . He made mention of one of the chief engineers having a bull dog that this poster and the art work in the hallway was designed after . Apparently the dog would come to the plant the odd time so some of you ex employees may remember the person or the dog from back in the early 2000's .

Tony still has the 2004 Thunderbird but sold the 2002 that he had and watched go down the line as it was being built . Hope to see him this summer at one of our events where he will bring some of his photos to share from Wixom .

Mystery solved. Great detective and legwork. CSI and Law & Order investigators could learn something from Martin and this group.

                      Martin,

If you figure out how to reproduce it. I'm sure there are plenty of us that would pay for a copy. I'm sure it would be tricky with the Ford logo and all, but maybe it could happen with the right printer.

                        Re: Hardboard poster.

The story is indeed true, I did get it when they were closing down T Bird assembly at Wixom, I gave Mort White a couple I collected.
I am actually thinking of selling my 2004 T Bird with sport roadster tonneau covers, it has ghost flames, done by Yosemite Sam Radoff, Silver car with red accent interior, rare as not available from factory. 50,000Km.

                          Tony,

Good to see you posting. It's been a long time. I remember how great your silver car looked with the ghost flames when we saw it in Dearborn years ago. You should think long and hard before you decide to sell it.

By the way, I'm the current owner of the poster with the bulldog. I feel very fortunate that Martin allowed me to get it from him. Thank you so much for saving it from the dumpster all those years ago.

That is the kind of stuff that makes the ultimate collection. Things once considered pretty much worthless by somebody and suddenly non-existent Think of all the things we saw everyday as kids and haven't seen in years. Yes not all worth saving,,,,, but ????????????.
