See Mikes post #17 above. At the time I did my mod the only size chrome trim was 1/4". The only note I have to add to post 17 method is that I started at the center bottom of the light so the joint could be more concealed and I made the trim just a bit longer than the space and compressed it to the joining end. This way the joint is nearly invisible and there is allowance for shrinkage in colder weather.

Thanks for the tip Roger, I may this first before I try to bend 3/16 brass bar stock.

The flexible chrome moulding would be considerably easier than bending brass (or any other metal) bar stock. It would probably require a jig or tool to ensure a uniform circle or ellipse and then you have the expense of chrome plating and adding an adhesive strip. The cost of the material, chrome-plating and adhesive tape could run $ 50 or more per set, not including the time and labor to make the jig, fabricate the rings and add the adhesive.

I don't know if members would be willing to spend $ 50 or more for a mod like this made in metal vs. around $ 15 for the flexible chrome moulding tape which is easier and less expensive.

Your right Phil, I was figuring closer to $100 per set with the chrome work (very expensive). I'll try the flexible moulding first, but will still explore the brass plated ones even if I only make one set for myself. I love challenges.

It's arts & crafts day.... been tinkering with Avery Chrome wrap for some time.... Finally seem to be comfortable working with the product, and happy with the outcome. Inner chrome trim is 3/8", and outer is 1/8". Now on to the other tail light.

Beautiful job, I have to find something that will not have the joined area at the bottom, my ocd would never deal with that. I love the look.
