  • Nostalgic Quiz

Most people of our vintage can remember the days of the cross country two lane blacktop highways that sported the famous Burma Shave Signs from the 1930s thru the 60s. Do you remember any? Lets see how many we can come up with. I'll kick it off with one I remember: Dim your lights ..... When approaching a car...... To show the folks..... How bright you are!.....Burma Shave.
Some of these were pretty corny but added some comic relief on long cross country trips.

        His face was smooth
        And smooth as ice
        And Oh Louise!
        He smelled so nice

        That was my Mother's favorite

I have never seen the real the thing, but I still remember one from an issue of MAD magazine of my youth...

          Empty beer cans
          On the road
          Are ugly many say
          But at night
          Reflecting bright
          They safely guide the way
          Burma Shave

              Oh, brother dear

                He tried
                To cross
