  • Plastic/Nylon Push Pins & Retainer Clips

I just did a search by using the Search Button on the top blue bar of our TBN site, looking for a source for all of the T-Bird's plastic/nylon push pins and plastic retainer clips.

One source that I have had great success with and they are NOT in China, the parts & pieces may be made in China, I don't know, but the company is not and their delivery is quick. They are in Cold Springs, Kentucky. Their name is Au-ve-co Products been around since 1916.

    Look here; www.auveco.com

They have a great on-line catalog as well as phone help.

Does anyone know if the engine cover push pins (rivets) are interchangeable between the 2002 and 2003-5 Tbirds?

Some of the push pins I have found at Lowes Home Store. Look very similar, work and are very reasonable

I found the plastic push pins to secure the plastic cover at Ace Hardware. 3/8" size and almost identical to the originals. Also a whole lot less expensive.

Most Au-ve-co products are available through Fastenal Stores. I am not sure if they are nation wide. Au-ve-co are major suppliers of all types of automotive type clips.

Make sure they are easily removed. Ford garage replaced one of mine with a permanent pushpin (like you would use to attach mud-flaps). I had to use a chisel to remove it and replace it with the a OEM removable pushpin.

Well, the 350 push pin package arrived today. Just a recommendation...don't bother. Of the 350 pins, I would guess that 10 or 15 will be useful. The others are so small in size that it would be difficult to use them on our Tbirds. My opinion....
Also, the package was simply wrapped in tape directly to the plastic bin containing the pins....this package received from China, the other side of the Earth. Looking beyond the broken hinge and clasp on the package, the push pins are as noted.
