    Re: Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale

My first real recollection of a car was Dad's 1954 Crown Vic. Prior to that, he had a 1950 Ford. For some reason the taillights of that car are all that I can recall. I was just a wee lad at the time.

I love the car, but I didn't care for the way they had to extend the rear bumper because the tail fins went out so far. Reminds me of the 1973 extended bumper styling era.

Lincoln reduced the tail fins on the 58 model. So did Caddy. The Imperial tail fins seemed to blend in. Chrysler kept them on the car for a few more years. IMHO, towards the end, they started to look a bit cartoonish, but the 57 was a knockout.

Thunderbird's rear bumper did not stick out in 1973

1974 was another story however. I really miss my old '73.

I was simply referring to the roofline accent was reminiscent in the Imperial, not the manufacturer, tire size, number of grill ornaments.
Geeze, sensitive out there these days, isn't it?

Say what you will, whenever I take mine somewhere it gets a positive comment. Happened again just this evening. They come from people of all ages so I'm optimistic about future values even though I don't plan to sell.
