  • Glove box manual/Spare/Jack/Top Wrench/etc

I'm looking for the proper wrench for hardtop removal on my 2003. Can anyone suggest a proper source ? I heard there is an Auto-Zone wrench I can purchase, which is fine.

I also noticed today (while jumping a friends car) that my spare tire is missing the wing nut and retaining plate for holding it down and I don't seem to have a jack, unless it's stored someplace else besides the tire well ? Where might I get one of those ?

I'd love a real owners manual too. I know I can download it (which I did), but it might be nice to have the actual manual too.

The hardtop tool is a T40 Torx Driver. If there is Sears still open near you, you should be able to buy one there which has a straight screw driver type handle. Ebay probably has some that have the T handle. Thunderbird Concepts will likely have ones that have the Thunderbird name.

You can probably get the wing nut for the spare at a auto supply store or the parts department of a Ford dealer.

Also, not a good idea to you your Tbird to jump a car. The Electronic control modules are quite sensitive and can be easily damaged by jumping.

The jack is stored in the spare tire well, should have been there.

Thanks for the warning. It seems fine, but I will refrain in the future :)
