It's been a long winter up here in the north. We watch the HGTV channel, DIY channel and History channel to get through the winter. After surfing through channels to find new shows (and there really isn't many good shows to choose from) and watching the Tavel channel and Food network with shows like Drive Ins, Diners and Dives it crossed my mind that there needs to be a TBN channel. Think about it, there are several events each year and usually sub-events after events that take in so many national parks, local points of interest and scenic byways, great food at local eateries and so much more. There would be no problem collecting enough material to fill several seasons. This would be a great channel and all the networks would be scrabbling to get such a great series.

I hope the snow melts soon, I'm tired of snow blowing and thinking of things to pass the time. Lol

Maybe a show on Velocity,,, but a 24 hour channel would be hard to fill.
Cabin fever is hard to treat, glad we don't have it here. I am planting my garden this week. Have 40 tomato plants growing in my pool house that will go out next week.

Our idea of cabin fever here in Phoenix is 3 straight days of cold rain - when I can't go out in the yard and work for a period of time (even in the summer), it's unbearable. We try and cure it with either a PBS series or something like that.

              Good show.

I'm a bit tired of the cookie cutter shows on the mainstream network channels and shows that have plots that go bananas. Characters are interchangeable to a certain degree. Seems like the non-network shows have better plots.

I can't think of any sitcom show that makes me actually laugh, but I find The Middle, The Goldbergs, and Modern Family.....amusing.

Hmmm...I bet somebody on TBN could whip up a u-tube type of presentation that could showcase what the Nest is all about. I'd be a subscriber!

AZTB is correct, PBS is without a doubt the best thing on TV. It's intelligent approach to programming and content doesn't insult the intelligence, well produced and always an inspiration for more.

Anyone else watching Victoria on PBS? It's another good show.

Yep...excellent show. There's also several on the British royalty through Amazon Prime that are outstanding.

IMHO, The Walking Dead has gone downhill. Same with Suits. Bates Motel has just re-started as has Major Crimes. Riverdale, a take off on the comic strip Archie, is a bit weird and really nothing like the comic strip, except for the characters. Decent time killer.

                        HBO's Westworld was ..................huh?????????????

Let's see how Better Call Saul starts out.

Off topic, just watched Hacksaw Ridge. I recommend it.

Anyone catch the last season of "Ripper Street"? Very intense, suggested by LA Phil.

                              Netflix shows:
The Crown (story of Elizabeth's rise to the throne)
Hell on Wheels (story of building of trans-con railroad)
Broadchurch (PBS/Netflix 2-season series on solving a murder - quite good)
Detectorists (another British quirky show about 2 misfits who use metal detectors)

Also, for the PBS fans, we're huge fans of the ACORN ap - they're the folks that produce many of the top-rated shows coming out of England.
