Re: What car have you sold that you regret most?

My '04 Merlot is the oldest car I have ever owned. All of the others, more than twenty, I got rid of because of age. I never kept a car more than four years and I don't regret getting rid of any of them. The best ones were BMWs and my favorite of that line was a '92 325i cabrio. That said, the old Bird still turns more heads than anything I have ever owned and that's the only reason I keep it. Just about everything that can be replaced has been, seals and all.

Stolen hubcaps is another flashback for sure. In the 50's in Tampa it was Olds Fiestas followed by Moon disk.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. Probably more valuable than either I mentioned. I had two sets of these wires stolen off my 79 Monte Carlo. Once in Opa Locka, broad daylight and once at a night Bucs game in Tampa.

57 Caddie caps were also very popular.

    Trivia.

Pretty sure that the 59 Ford outsold the 59 Chevy. Ford went for the extremely popular 58 TBird styling.

J.C. Whitney and Western Auto were all we had. That's why many of us lived in junk yards. I am blowed away by the Auto supply after market today, where you can build a car from scratch,,,,, if you can afford it.

As for me, I regret selling my '65 Shelby G.T.350, my '71 Trans Am 455 H.O., and my '65 Ford Falcon Sedan Delivery. All were special cars and I miss them. The Shelby and the Sedan Delivery came along when I was in my 20's and 30's, but the Trans Am was my high school car. Frankly, I can't believe I survived!!!!

'86 Suzuki GSX-R750; first model year you could get in the States. Race bike for the street (back then when new). It was the reason I stopped trying to make cars go fast. Owned it for 10 years and 30,000 miles. Want it back bad.

    Yeah, memories.

After leaving the strip, I'd leave the pipes open until the next day, and kept the chalked class info on my side window.

    I thought I was cool!
