    Trivia.

Pretty sure that the 59 Ford outsold the 59 Chevy. Ford went for the extremely popular 58 TBird styling.

Probably the most stolen hub caps of all when I was growing up in the 50's in the Detroit area. Star fire Spinners and Fury Cones.

57 Caddie caps were also very popular.

Around here it was the 1957 Dodge Lancer four bar spinners.

Oh yeah, I forgot about those. Probably more valuable than either I mentioned. I had two sets of these wires stolen off my 79 Monte Carlo. Once in Opa Locka, broad daylight and once at a night Bucs game in Tampa.

Stolen hubcaps is another flashback for sure. In the 50's in Tampa it was Olds Fiestas followed by Moon disk.

Re: What car have you sold that you regret most?

My '04 Merlot is the oldest car I have ever owned. All of the others, more than twenty, I got rid of because of age. I never kept a car more than four years and I don't regret getting rid of any of them. The best ones were BMWs and my favorite of that line was a '92 325i cabrio. That said, the old Bird still turns more heads than anything I have ever owned and that's the only reason I keep it. Just about everything that can be replaced has been, seals and all.

No memories of stolen hub caps - but J.C.Whitney, I could not wait for that catalog. I'de get the thing and go through it cover to cover. I'm not sure I ever bought anything out of it. My father was a regional parts manager for Ford.

This is the kind of memories that caused most of us to buy a retro Thunderbird. Big difference between those who have commented and those who didn't.
                    ( Boy don't that make a lot of sense (-: )

This is one that I do miss. Sold it because my wife did not like riding in it. Then bought my 02WW.

In the '60s, friend of mine and I calculated all the "gas saving devices" in a catalog and concluded that the fuel tank would be overflowing by page 54.

1964 Ford Galaxy 500 convertible white with gray interior and it was the first car I ever purchased . It was a Ford program car so I was the first owner. My mother turned it upside down on our country road. I replaced it with a 1964 T-bird convertible Royal Blue that was a program can that I still own to this date.

At $0.28 a gallon saving gas was exactly what most of us were trying to do - lol

If all the cars I have owned were lined up in a row in the condition I sold them and I had to pick one I would be standing there a while. Not a pleasant or easy choice the more I think about it.

                                I miss my 2005 Chrysler 300C Hemi 345 hp.

I had fun making up for not having a HotRod when I was a teenager.

Sold/traded at it for a Hemi pickup truck 60,000 miles for only $10,000.
                                Big mistake.
