  • Thanks LA Phil

Hello everyone, I now have my missing rocker! I contacted Isaac at car-parts.com and got the rocker at a very reasonable price, and only $25 shipping. It also had the clips. It is a different shade of blue, but looks great. What I find troubling though is in the photo of the parts car. It looked great. Just a little front end damage. So I asked him why not fix it and sell it? He said it was not worth the time chasing down the parts. What a shame, another TBird off the street. --- Alan

That's always been my biggest problem with Ford. They change both mechanical and body parts so often that the supplies for spares run out so soon. Makes it difficult to keep a vehicle that is only driven a few miles annually. I have even found that ther are parts not even available during the first year of a vehicle production. They have said improvise or go to salvage....hard to believe for a new vehicle. In 1973 I had a new metallic red LTD Brougham that was produced in December. Ford changed the mix on that color three times during the model run.

Beginning in the mid 30's Ford started making mid year changes. This in later years caused many an argument at car show judging events and of course parts became a major issue. As an example there were 2 completely different engines in a 1936 Ford, as Henry used up all the left over 35 stuff and put the new engine in in mid year. There was also new colors introduced in April as spring showing colors. Many think this was due to Chevy out selling Ford in the 30's.
