Re: How often do you drive your T'bird?

I drive her most days that are nice. Having our winter vacation cut short by three months has put additional miles on Black Beauty. Generally, the hard top comes off when our 30 year old geraniums go out side. Could be any day now.. As to 'when do you reckon' I've given up asking about registration numbers. As of 6:14 Central, 18 members were on line 260 guests go figure

Re: How often do you drive your T'bird?

A 150 mile trip this week and a 600 mile trip to Washington, Iowa, later.

But, now that I have lost weight and gained more aches and pains, I prefer the comfortable seats in the 2015 Escape Titanium. So, a 3,000 mile California trip is out.

Still love to drive the Tbird and would appreciate any input regarding adding comfort to seats.

The 150 mile trip is the acid test to see whether I fixed the suspect fuel pump noise problem.

Was a daily driver for years until winter storage this year. moved from one storage location to another so I have seen the beast one day since November. Am dying to get her out.

My story is that I drive it at least once a week to local areas, so maybe 15-25 miles. Want to make sure she keeps the blood flowing through the engine, and not let her sit idle in the garage. I have one that has over 100k on the odometer, and I do not much of its history as to COP replacements or other major components not being the original owner. But, I put a lot of care in to bringing it and keeping it at a point where I can feel confident in driving it long distances, engine feels strong and willing. My goal is to go to the "Big Teasy" this coming October, so that my driving it currently is geared to being ready!

I have a '56 and a '02 Retro. I drive the '56 approximately 1500 miles a year, but only put about a 1000 miles a year on the '02. Neither car is a daily driver.

I drive my PCR on average twice per month. I put about 1200 to 1500 miles per year on it.

Since we moved to FL in 2010 and I work from home full time, I only drive it about every week or two. I have to admit I do miss driving it every day, but I don't miss commuting to and from work.

Re: How often do you drive your T'bird?

I live in Central Florida so the hardtop goes on for the summer and comes off for Fall through Spring. It is an '05 and now has 55K miles on it. It over heated this week, a leak in the heater control valve so I told to mechanic to just replace all heater hoses and the thermostat, he just called and said the parts alone are $1600. Other than coils this will be the first repair in 12 years and most of it is preventive maintenance.

Both of ours are driven everyday unless there is no place we are going that day. We have a Lincoln Navigator that we get out when we need to haul a lot of people or going to Oklahoma to see family. With all the room, if you want to take it go ahead. I also have a Ford Sport Trac I drive if I need a pickup. Our 57 Bird is not driven much.

Less and less each year. Mostly around town trips and a short ride just to make sure that the battery dying issue has been totally corrected. (It has.)

Before getting downsized ten years ago, I took the car to work once per week (weather permitting) and on two very enjoyable solo business trips to New England.

Same can be said for the Galaxie, except I never took the Galaxie to work.
