Before getting downsized ten years ago, I took the car to work once per week (weather permitting) and on two very enjoyable solo business trips to New England.
Same can be said for the Galaxie, except I never took the Galaxie to work.
I have other cars to drive.... my bird gets driven not so often. Last time I took it out I got hit in the rear!

Re: How often do you drive your T'bird?

My story recently changed. Now I am a little gun-shy. Last year, I had a fender bender in the rain with my SUV. Due to its age and front-end damage, they automatically totaled it without even looking at it. So, I figured that I would use my Retrobird as my daily driver. Two months later, on my birthday, to celebrate my new chrome hood bezel, I went to In-n-Out drive-thru for a burger. The young girl ahead of me in line, in a tall wide Jeep, decided that she didn't want to wait in line anymore, so she looked in the rearview mirror, didn't see my Tbird, and quickly backed up. She back half-way up my hood. It took the body shop nearly a month to locate a hood, front apron and grille. Into the first week, I realized that I could no longer exist with one car, so I bought an '03 Ford Falcon right in my price range, which is now my daily driver. I drive my Bird on weekend events and car shows and club meetings, as I now look at her with different eyes. GAB

The best trophies are miles on the odometer, stone chips in the paint, dead bugs on the windshield, and the occasional smell of manure.

Just on Sunday to the beach and back about 16 miles round trip. With the classic insurance i have I only get 2500 miles a year so I am limited.

Forgot to mention last month had it out for a day and someone hit my rear quarter panel . The car is Inca Gold and it was in shop for 3 weeks to match the paint and find the small reflector on the side. Months earlier someone walked by and caught their shirt on the at T Bird script on the rear panel and broke off the D. Have not replaced this yet but when anything on the car is not show room perfect I lose interest in driving her.

              Oh wow, my people responded!
What is clear is that We all love driving these cars. We love the compliments when we stop for gas. We love the way they handle. We love the quick acceleration when we want it. I admit I'm a true admirer. I am so happy that you all love the cars as cars and not stuffy collectibles.

Yeah, sometimes the girls get hit. My heart goes out to you who have a wounded bird. But, I still want to get them out and run...

                      Sorry. An '03 Focus.

Falcon........that must be a Freudian slip of some sort. Speaking of which, I saw a beautiful Falcon at a car show a few months back, had a 289 V-8 in it. I didn't realize that Ford made a Falcon with the V-8.

I'm probably jinxing myself, but my last accident was in 1994. I totaled my 85 TBird TurboCoupe, mainly due to driver stupidity (mine).

Same day, same winter storm, just about the same time, someone hit my wife's 89 TownCar, but it was repairable.

I had thought most people had given up on the underpowered Falcon.
The 4 cylinder Falcons made a lot of people unhappy when navigating California's Freeway OFF/ON ramps.

Re: How often do you drive your T'bird?

Our 05 is our only car we also have a 1 ton pick up. The Retro is driven in all the weather changes we have including snow.

Our 05 Retro which we have owned since November of 2004 is usually our daily driver. But we live in a very small city (there is only 826 miles of pavement) so we don't have a lot of miles on a 12 year old car.

The 90,820 some miles that we do have, much of it has come from 3 trips from here in Washington to San Diego, CA; 4 trips to Cleveland, OH; 4 TBN events in San Antonio TX, Nashville TN, Pikes Peak CO, and Black Hills SD and 8 trips into British Columbia Can.

I expect the longest trip will be the coming Big Teasy New Orleans trip because after this event we intend to tour the southeast states before heading back to Washington.

Falcons only came in six or eight cylinder flavors.
