  • Millennials @ retro's

Many of us on TBN have commented on future interest in cars and retro's in particular. We have twin 17 1/2 year old grandson's and both wanted to drive our PCR to the prom. They both own pick-ups and so does most of their friends.
Suddenly the car they didn't give a second glance is the coolest car they know. After a lengthy discussion they appear to be really interested and for the right reasons. They also knew a lot more about the Thunderbird than I would have guessed. At least they recognize the rarity and uniqueness of the car.

I would be thinking their prom dates may have had something to do with the transportation selection.

Likely since they both have trucks. But the retro's rarity was mentioned several times, and they had many vehicle choices they could make.

I've met people that have never owned a car, only a truck, or SUV -ever. I am always given some hope when a young person, indeed, any person, has an interest in sports cars, or just cars. I can certainly understand the interest for a prom when you really want to impress, so that shows good taste is there! I basically like trucks, particularly the older ones, but wouldn't want, or need one for daily transportation or work.

Lately I have gotten a lot of "Nice Car Comments" and truckers giving the thumbs up sign again. Had the hard top on yesterday, and the porthole definitely gives them a clue that it really is a Thunderbird.

P.S. Even had a little 5-6 year old boy looking at the Tbird for a long moment. Maybe his grandpa has a Tbird.

Kids walking home from School never take a look. Too involved in talking maybe.
