Re: Quickdraw!! Dot says I need your help!

    UPDATE:

    Well that was certainly boring...

Per the registry, all NM cars are listed in the first sixty-eight pages. Sixty-eight looong pages. Randomly interspersed with regular 2002 cars...

NM cars listed in the first forty pages have good information. After page forty, information becomes spotty at best, but there is still information updated as late as October 2016.

On page sixty-five there is one NM car listed in Hazlewood, MO, a suburb of St. Louis. VIN 2Y100163. Information last updated 2005.

That may be the car I'm looking for.

Gonna chase that VIN next week.

What are you going to do if you find the donor car?

Dunno. Buy it maybe. I've bought firearms because I had a magazine.

Love it when a plan comes together. That would make a great story.

Most info on those pages were owner submitted. If it's just a vin and little else, then it was mass entered from info received from someone that visited the plant frequently or data that quickdraw had in his files.
Go back to the registry and use their search again on 2002 Thunderbirds. I noticed that they do have a special search available on the NM tbirds. Scroll down page, left column. gives you 10 pages of just NM tbirds.

Newman, for those first two NMs that were destroyed/parted out, there was a guy here that bid/bought on scraped vehicles from Ford. He was World Class Wheels or some such name. Doubt he is still here but Dot may know.

That's right, Harry. World Class Wheels in South Lyon, Michigan - owned by Rick Thomas (no relation). Rick had a lot of parts and pieces he bought from Ford when they dismantled their preproduction cars. I think he still has a "store" on eBay where he sell TPMS sensors at a good price. I bought some from him about 4 years ago. He was one of the first members to really have a lot of miles on his Tbird, because he commuted a long way to work every day.
                        21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

Newman, if you have a connection with a Ford serviceman they might lookup these VINs in Ford's OASIS system and tell you when and where these cars were serviced *IF* they were done at a Ford dealer service center. I believe even if the work was done at an out of state Ford dealer. Good luck!
