Is it possible to search for a member using their given name when you don't know their user name?

Steve, you can search for a TBN member if you know his/her last name. Try this:

Click on "Community" in the menu above.
Scroll down to :Members" and click.
On the right hand side, click on "Search Members"
On the drop down, click on "Advanced Search". The Member - Search" page will appear.

This page has blank spaces for info. One is for entering a members last name. If you know the members city and state, enter that info.

Now drop to the bottom of the search page and hit "Submit".

Hope this works.

I used Six Pac's method and searched for a member who name was not part of his sign-on name and found him. The key was to use the "advanced search" part of the equation.

I think given name and last name are the same. That advance search does wonders.

Yes, I did. I chose a member at random, looked up their last name by clicking on their membership. Then followed Six Pac's method, putting only in their last name (pretending I didn't know their log-in name) - up popped their membership/log-in name.

given name = a specific (first name) name given at birth.

last name = a sir name or a family name.

Since I'm a newbie to the site, I am looking for helps just like this. Here are a couple of snaps from search procedure that helped. First is advanced feature...make sure you click on that. Then you will see the next screen (snap below), which tells you to enter user name. If you don't have that, go down the screen and put in last name. That is how I found the user name for the individual I "didn't know".

There actually is a way possible without using the search function, but you would have to know a little bit about the member first.
