how much the MAP/EGR bits meant to my car.
I've had it 3-1/2 years now and had never been satisfied with the operation of the transmission and the gas mileage. Then, a few weeks ago, I got a P0108 code (MAP too high) and got the bits replaced. Within days the transmission shifted much more smoothly, performance was up, and throttle response was much better. The gas mileage on the tank pre-fix was 15.5mpg and the mileage post-fix was 17.5mpg, same type of driving.
Modern cars are kind of a mystery to me as I am more in-tune with the simple Model A Ford 4-bangers. I understand them much better.
Just thought I'd pass the experience along.
