  • Help in the Houston area to check out an '03 MSG

This car is at a dealer near the airport.

I'd appreciate it if anyone near by could get their eyes on the car and look it over as a "buyer".

It looks good on the internet?

John check this one out not mine but I wish it was, I spoke to the seller and the least she will take is 15k. https://losangeles.craigslist.org/lg...114414958.html

It's good to see the guy sitting on the driveway scrubbing those wheels! Mint-looking car, especially that tan top not being all blackened up. Is the engine compartment just as immaculate?

Epilog: That was the first thing I noticed when I went looking for a Retrobird. They were all immaculate. (My life experiences buying used boats and cars revealed some shocking items for sale.) Then, a friend with a Merlot told me, "George, no one ever bought a thunderbird to pull tree stumps with." To quote Archie Bunker, Ipso Fatso.

That is a very nice car and with the mileage the price is bang on.

George: The person cleaning the wheels is from an auto detail company that they hire to take care of the car on a scheduled basis. Does not get much better than this.

There's 2 airports in Houston. IAH which is north Houston and lots of dealerships in the area, and Hobby, south Houston area, which has some dealers in that area as well.

10050 Gulf Highway/freeway. Dealer says they are close to "Hobby".
The car is listed on Cars.com
I talked to "Fred" about it. He has sent additional pictures, including some shots of the "under" side of the car.

So far it's looking good for the money, but I wouldn't get on a plane unless someone who knows about these cars says "looks good".

They are very close to Hobby. There's a plethora of used car dealers in that stretch. It has a couple of different names using the same address. Reviews are very good. I'm about 50 miles or so from there but no plans to be in that area anytime soon. Good luck!

Too far away for you to make a special trip. I'll keep my eye on it and if something "calls" you over that way, let me know and I'll tell you if it's still there.

$11,995 would be a good price if it weren't for "Accident Check: Frame damage reported".
I have an MSG for sale with half that mileage only 60 miles west of you and it has a hard top plus one year warranty

Since there is a Leaper under the hood I'll even throw in a tie tack

Spoke with her by email about the car. She sent me a video clip of the car...I tried to attach it, but technology is not always my friend. If anyone wants to see the clips, they're an .MOV format and I'll be glad to TRY and forward them to you.

Yes the red one is a "nice one" at a good price, but I already have a red one.
I'm shopping for SMG, Merlot, F type roadster, or Tesla roadster. Don't stop suggesting others, my mind can change "on a dime and give you 9 cents change".

True. This is amazing care of a car. Count yourself very fortunate if you are lucky enough to buy a car that has had this care taken.

I thought EYE took good care of my car, but these detail shops are fanatical. Down to using Q-tips. I am a little apprehensive about their cost, however. Isn't it about $300-400 to get it done?

I lent my Mazda Tribute to a family friend's daughter - for 6 months - who was going off to college. I never expected her to do anything to the car but put gas in it. Well, before she returned it to me, she had the interior completely detailed. I couldn't BELIEVE it - it was better than I did myself, and I though that I was pretty good.
