Hi Dot: I got 2 for Christmas. Honestly, it is not worth $35.00. I will be happy to take some pics tonight and post if you would like to see it. I got the TBird of course.

The boxe is clear plastic with a paperboard insert with a picture of a diner that has two signs above it in pink neon that says "Thunderbird Diner" with a woman holding a malt shake and fries in the foreground. It is produced by Yafa Pen Co., Canoga Park, CA, copyright 2004.

On the paper insert below the molded clear plastic stand from which the car and pen rest it says: "Special Edition Collectible Set: This Exclusive Set Includes a Classic 1955 Thunderbird Collectible Replica and Special Edition Yafa Pen With a Hand-Crafted Stainless Steel Body and Triangular Grip."


IMHO, it cost maybe $5 to produce and has the typical "Needless Markup" for which NM is notorious for.

I agree on the Needless Markup. I think there might be a Marshalls around here but even their price is too high. Anyone else seen the set anyplace else as it doesn't appear to be a NM exclusive.
I've been watching NMs web catalog to see if their price comes down.

I was in my local Office Depot today and in the clearance items they had (5) T-Bird sets for $6.93 each. I did a quick search on the site and found this post, of course it dates back to 2005.
The set has a pen and is titled as Yafa Pen & 1955 Thunderbird Collectible Set.
I thought some of the collectors out there might be interested.
If they are not at an Office Depot near you I would be willing to pick one or all up and mail them for actual cost of mailing plus the $6.93.
They had Red, Black and Brown with the tops down and Red and Blue with White hard top (no port hole)
