I there was some kind of problem with getting the chrome wheels in Canada. Did that change after 2002?

2002 was the only year a painted wheel went north of the border. However, the US continued to get them on the deluxe models thru 2005.

Thanks! Interesting part is that the Hertz tracking device was still in the car when I purchased it in 2006. It was a continuous drain on the battery resulting in dead battery when I least needed it. Couldn't figure it out till I took it back to dealer as it was still under B2B warranty. They wound up pulling about 25 feet of wire and the control box that was in the trunk. They thought it was some kind of cell phone device at first.

Thank you! This disproves something one of my friends was saying . My Bird has no running/fog lights. He was telling me that since all the Canadian T-Birds were sold this way, mine was a Canadian car. Nice to see he was wrong.

Tell your friend the running lights were an OPTION for all 2002-2005 Thunderbirds. It was a no cost option that the company encouraged dealers to order but some salespeople don't read the communications. If you need to prove it to your friend there are copies of the dealer order sheets available.

The story goes that during low speed crash testing cars must sustain no more than x dollars of damage and by making the lights an OPTION they were exempt from the calculation.

And to add to that, All Canadian cars have their own special door tag on the driver's door edge that reinforces that they are from Canada.
