We aren't even sure those were specifically made to be converted to the 007's... it may have been an arbitrary choice on which cars they sent out to be "Bondized"... they were some of the over 100 pre-production cars made before the official start date of June 1, 2001.. Wonder if there was a reason to select yellow to be repainted Coral?

When Dot gets back from vacation Ill bet she can tell us more.

Think I got the three you are referring to now. They were 100072, 73 and 74, and like you stated, built on 10/14/2002. they must have been the ones that Gary took the pictures of. So, he would have been there in the fall and not late spring as he indicated.
Incidentely, took a picture of 100072 at the 2003 100th celebration in Dearborn. Did discuss some of this with Dot some years back I think . You just helped close some of the gaps.

Just did not put them together with Gary's pictures until now. Not quite sure where I got the second 2002 . It may have been a few years back when it was donated for charity. 2010 perhaps. Have pictures of the cars from Dearborn if you are interested.
Have known John for many years when he first started his registry. Great guy. Have supplied him with many VIN's for Thunderbirds. A great resource for Thunderbird owners of all years. So is Dot's site for that matter.

Problem solved... I never noticed before but there is overlap on the 2002-2003 production. The very last 2002 came off the line 11/14/2002 - there were 102 2003s built by then. Those three sets of white seats waiting on the rack MUST have been for the three 007s built on 10/14/2002.... if the PROPERTIES on those photos show a date, it must be 10/14/2002.

Harry: Just got confirmation from Gary on the date that he took the pictures and it is right on with your 'date of manufacture' for the three early 007's. Amazing how we can go back ten + years and nail it down.

Also, according to my mother, this never went to a dealer. She said it was ordered by a customer who cancelled. I remember her saying she bought it direct from the factory and it was shipped directly to Iceland, where she was working at the NATO base. I believe she got it through AAFES, but am not sure. Mom was not the type to embellish stories, so I had no reason to doubt her.
