Of course you are going to tell her that you remember the cars birthday because it's a day before HER birthday, and not the other way around, aren't you?

                Quickdraw--
My bird was a special ordered and was made the first week that they made the 2003s (week of November 18, 2002). Dot helped me keep track of the production of "03 TBIRD" from it's beginning but I heard two different dates.

I know almost all the Birds made the first few days were made same color top as the body. From your database, are you able to tell if "O3 TBIRD" was the first Desert Sky Blue with a Performance White top (is color part of the VIN No)?

                My vin # is: 1FAHP60A03Y100220

                Any help -- Thanks.

No color isn't part of the VIN and I know of no way to find out if yours was the first DSB/white. Did Dot say the first few days the Birds were made with the same color top? I can imagine it may be true that the first cars were "generic" for dealer stock. The different color top may be by special order only.

In any case I'll check the build date on Thursday unless MichaelM is at work tonight and can look it up for you before that.

There weren't that many DSB/White top... 117 if a premium with black accent interior and only 52 if premium with stand black ink interior.

I wouldn't know about the color tops on the 03s but it's fairly accurate to believe that most tops would have been body color as Quickdraw mentions at any time during the 03 model year. It would be up to the dealer to order the color tops they wanted on their stock birds and most dealers opt for the body color tops unless they have a specific order from a customer that wants otherwise.

That's scary.....a long time between 'At dealer' and 'Sold Date"

Ford ad execs must have been on crack when they developed the marketing plan for this car.

Thanks Micheal and Quickdraw, we'll be celebrating a birthday sooner than I thought!

                                Karyl,
I had to go about 80 miles from home to find the mint green color, had a friend run a search for the car and it was the only vmg in northern california..
the dealer is in a pretty rural area, don't want to say middle of nowhere, but pretty close... anyways, think i got a pretty good deal, so i'm not complaining... :) she was pretty dusty though, and had 80 miles of "test driving"...
