SST on an 02? Didn't think that was an option until 03... anyway discounting the SST yours is one of 34.

My apologies if this is a duplicate message. I may have hit the wrong button to reply and lost my first message.

Would you mind giving the production figures for my 'Bird? I read through the other posts and sis not see one like it.

2004 order code 130-A Premium Conv
        Exterior Merlot CC
        Interior Black Ink Accent
        Removable top merlot
        Black convertible top
        Black Accent Package
        Convertible soft boot
        Select Shift Trans
has the 7 spoke chrome cast alum wheels with the no charge options engine oil cooler and supplemental parking lamps.

I also need to ask, as a "newbie":
Is it gauche to talk price on this site? I supposedly got a good price on this end-of-year '04. The dealer had lent it out for parades in a greater metropolitan area, so I got a "new" car with one thousand miles on it and some glitter scattered between the seats.

          Welcome to TBN!

It's OK to talk price if you want... the danger is someone else may have paid less <grin>

Your is one 241 built to those specifications...

            Probably not the place to put this, but you asked.As long as you got the Bird of your Dream, the price is irrellevent. A lot of Original folks here, paid over sticker, sticker, Dealer Cost, A,X, or whatever Plan, and some deep discounts, because they wrre taking up space on lots. I know I paid more for my 02 than I did for my 04. Love them both, so price doesn't really matter, as long as your happy with your new Baby. But I have to interject here, Back in MA, and here in FL, a car as you described, can only be sold as a used vehicle. So I would hope it was priced accordingly, even if you got the full new car warrantee. IMHO. But, look further into the site, do a search with the prompt button up top on each page, you'll find plenty of discussion on the topic.;

Re: 2004 Thunderbird Production Final Listing

Thanks for the advice. The only reason I asked about price was to see if my buying price refelected the end-of-year push or if I really was getting a lowered price due to it being driven. Hard to compare amongst dealers because around here they don't give any inkling of true buying price until it gets real serious. The car had been to at least one of the dealer's satellite new car lots. I had first seen this exact car on his lot 45 miles from where I finally bought it, so it had been moved around a bit. It was still the nicest looking car I had seen all day, so I am sure I was a vulnerable buyer. I have always had a love for TBirds, ever since I rode in my uncle's brand new black '58 with red leather interior. He almost bought one in '55 but settled for the full-sized Ford because the TBird was like $200 more. He's 71 now and still talks about that '55 like it was the "one that got away."
My experience in Ohio: I was looking at a "new" car about four years ago and saw that it had NINE THOUSAND MILES on it. The salesman (not the same dealer that I got my TBird from) said that I would be getting a "real bargain" even though he was knocking off only $500 from the sticker. And this was on a stupid Nissan coupe for my daughter. Never been back there again.

QuickDraw, I just finished reading this entire thread.... It's really an enjoyable read seeing how rare these cars really are! I purchased the Ice Blue Metallic on May 8th of this year. I ordered my from the dealer and specified no hard top (even though I wish I did ) It's Blk w/Blk ink accent interior, 7-spoke chrome whls, heated seats. The window sticker indicates Order Code 130A-Prem Conv. Option Equip: engine oil cooler, boot, sup park lamps, and sst. VIN - 1FAHP60A04Y110036.
I do plan to purchase the Performance White Hard Top and understand this doesn't qualify with your statistics.
                Best Regards!, Stuart

Ordering the premium without a hard top made yours all the rarer... yours is only one of THREE that left the factory like that.

There were 51 ice blues made with a white top but they all had the partial white interior. If you would have ordered the ice blue hardtop with everything else the same as you have now, yours would have been one of 87.

Besides, I think the hardtop is $2,500 extra from the factory and they can be had for half that much at ebay. Looks like you made the right decision without realizing it.

If MichaelM doesn't beat me to it I'll check your VIN tomorrow to see what day it was built.

I had a trade in and money down, they proceeded with the purchase. I told them what color I wanted and optional items then they placed the order.

I think perhaps I purchased a VIN number first.... I remember the dealer had to receive a VIN from Wixom in order to purchase the car.

I remember the dealership couldn't tell me or track the vehicle once it left Wixom Plant. I was very aggravated they couldn't tell me exactly what day the car would arrive at the dealership.

                        Quickdraw,

We have a premium Torch Red 04 with, red hard top, black conv.top, full red accents, sst and 17 spoke machined wheels. I was told it has all the options available in NC. (Why we need heated seats I'll never know!) From your first post I know it's one of 1734 but any more info would be greatly appreciated.

                        Thanks!
