  • Poll #2 - What to do with violators

If the membership votes to allow Tbird/car only topics from now on, then the problem of dealing with violators arises. The Justins will either have to monitor TBN a lot closer than they do now, or a Tribunal of Moderators will have to be appointed to do it. Either way, violators of the "No Off Topic" posts will have to be punished. This poll is to decide their fate.

(Sorry about the misspelling, the poll should say "deal" not "dela". It wouldn't let me change it.)
    30
Suspend 1st time violators for 10 days, 2nd timers for 30 days, 3rd timers receive a lifetime ban
    10.00%
    3
Force violators to read nothing but Marilyn Monroe posts until cured
    23.33%
    7
    Publicly stone them
    33.33%
    10
Make them sell their Tbird, buy a Jaguar, and join the Jaguar forum
    33.33%

Brother Ray...again Only My Opinion...but About 18 Months Ago The Justins Said In The New Guidelines...off Topic...write What You Want And Off Topic Will Not Be Monitored Too Closely...

I Assume That The Word "off Topic" Means Just That...most Things That Are Not T-bird Related.

I'm Not Knocking Anyone...but I Still Don't Understand Why Some Members Are Screaming For Limited Conversation And For Limitations On What Can Be Written....i Notice Many Times The Ones Who Want These Limitations Are The One's Who Post Infrequently...i Am Not Saying Their Wrong...just Questioning If Limitations On This And Then Limitations On That Are The Right Way To Go.

Honestly..i Feel Tbn Is Like A T.v. Set...and Many Of Us Rather Be On Tbn Instead Of In Front Of A T.v. Set...however Our T.v. Sets Have Many Channels...we Surf The Channels And Watch Something We Find Interesting.........why Shouldn't Tbn Be The Same.....with Many Varied Subject Matter You Can Surf The Threads And Read Or Respond To Those You Are Interested In...those That You Don't Like Just Skip Them...read (change The Channel)

But what do we do if Claude does something wrong?

        He's already there.

Wait, wait...I actually agree with something Tony is saying?! Holy crap, Batman - this can't be good. Must be the first sign of the Apocalypse. (Just yanking yer chain, Tony... )

But I do agree with you on this issue.

How 'bout we publicly stone them with rocks in the shape of Marilyn Monroe?! Yeah, that's the ticket...

REALLY!!! I agree 100%! There are some threads I never read. For example, why would I read the "Yankees and Red Sox Fans Only" thread? If you were born and raised in VA like me, who would give a s**t about those two POS teams and their fans anyway? Not me. So I don't bother to read them. Same goes for people who get offended about different political views or religion or whatever...if the thread is clearly titled and you know you'll get pi**ed, why go there? I don't get it...Tony's right, change the channel, er, TBN thread...

As long as we have "Off Topic Forums" and I think we should, then let "Freedom of Speech" and "Freedom of the Press" prevail!!!!!!

Writings should be courteous and civilized. There's nothing wrong, IMHO, with being opinionated as long as it doesn't degradate other peoples' differing opinions and as long as there's no "preaching."

                  Just my thoughts.

To begin with the membership has no say in what is and isn't allowed on TBN. This is up to the Justins and them alone. But some people seem to get off on pi-s off other people and trying to take their views on the world and jamming it down the throat of others. For those that persist on doing this..........Either leave the site or just get ban. Simple as that.

Ray, I've gone back and deleted all the most I could find regarding MM. Please let me know if I've overlooked any, and I will delete them too.
                      Thanks!

Wasn't "Some Like It Hot" a really good movie? Those guys were pretty funny. Although Imust say my favorite was "The Philadelphia Story" with Cary Grant. Katherine Hepburn, Jimmy Stewart, and some other folk whose names I can't remember right now because I've been drinking with my neighbors. Molson XXX is REALLY good, especially when followed by Guinness and Mike's Hard ;lemonade. Anybody else drink that stuff?

Re: Poll #2 - What to do with violators

Well, Tony I don't post too often but read TBN everyday, have since about day 4 of TBN. You know I sent you an email response to an inadvertent email I got from your old friend Harry, just thought I would post the main body of it for my response to this idea:

TBN was created for the love of Thunderbirds / Cars / Leisure Subjects not to express or promote your / anyone's political views, if you need the soapbox go somewhere else and leave our little side of paradise alone and please take me off your email list. Get with the program or get out, no one cares what your idea of the perfect America is all about, I certainly don't when I'm reading TBN threads.

I sugar coated my gut reaction to your email as much as possible, if you take it personal rest assured I don't care, I'm just tired of all the belly aching that has happened on TBN when someone don't get the world to rotate around them just right. Get your own site or suck it up and move on, TBN is about cars.

                          ____________________________end of email________________________________

Hope this helps when evaluating how I feel about the off topic idea. Off topic to me is "hey is anyone going to the Kruse auction this Labor Day / let's get together for dinner?" Not "hey lets fly the flag upside down this Labor Day to protest Tony being banned from TBN."

I like to read everything on TBN, but I have never tried to see how many time I could post just to run my post number up like many have. I have strong feeling about many subjects; unions, wars, religion, politics, celebrities, food, wine, and yes cars. Lets keep this forum about cars.

I might want to meet some of you someday again and don't want to have in the back of my mind you need your a** Kicked for something you said on TBN. If we really must have the forum can we break it down in Red & Blue just so I don't stumble into the cryers lounge by mistake (guess my color, bet I know yours).

                          OK, Tear me up!

                          Pi**ed-off yet?
Me too, now see what you have done.

I am with Jeff. 100%. Off topics are light hearted matters. Not subjects that create gut wrenching feelings to surface.

I am ALL about the car etc etc etc.......
