I hate to say it, but you look at the male side of the graph and it looks pretty much the same as a Viagra usage graph. Except we use Thunderbird, instead.

With all the used Birds out there I can see the age bracket for younger owners slowly building up more people. The first buyers were us old farts that wanted a new one and could afford the price tag but I wouldn't trade the past 8 years of ownership for any amount of money.

I was an old fart who couldn't afford a new one. Now I'm an older fart who could kinda afford a used one. So I happily now re-balance the demographic scales. In between time, I happily drove the wheels off my modified Mini Cooper S, and then traded it for the Bird...

I'm 60 (a young 60!!), but I don't feel you need to be a certain age to enjoy a car. I think the lines of the TBird are a very good demonstration of art and form; nice, nice styling. The icing on the cake is that I get to drive something truly distinctive.

First of all, I'm 61. That being said, when the 2002 first was introduced I wanted one in the worst way.At the time I just could not justify the cost. I'm very happy to find my "early 02" one of the first 1500 built two years ago here in Wisconsin. My vin is 1366. Every thunderbird owner over the years has his or her reasons to buy the one vehicle that defines their lives. That's what makes us special.

This poll should put an end to the chix car thread - 552 males vs 81 females responded, at least as of today.

My birthday was last week, and I turned 72. Love my blue/black 2002 bird with 22,500 miles. I keep it in my home near Wilmington , NC, and when I am here it is my daily driver.

I would trade the bike or the Jag, or both, for a really nice square bird, preferably a convert.

Ski, maybe most (not all) women aren't as inclined as men to join a Thunderbird (or any automobile) chatbox?

If I weren't around, for some reason, I can assure you that my wife would not be spending her time on TBN.

That's funny, because I'm the one who does most of the posting on Charley's Shelby forum...he just isn't very 'chatty'!

I would probably say that most don't know about the forums... I only thought to look for one because my hubbie is a car restorer and is always on Ford forums, etc ; )

In either case, girly car or not, my new baby is just plain awesome!!

                            Emily, very true.

For example, how many women know what Edmunds.com is or Hemmings?

This is not a dig against women, as I'm sure there are many, many sites that women flock to that men don't.

It's just that, as guys, we are more programmed to be car nuts.

My first "car crush" was in the early 50's. I went nuts seeing, and riding, in a black 49/50 Mercury convertible. I was hooked.

Haven't checked the poll here for quite some time. Looks like we're getting a number of "youngsters" owning these 'birds. Much more so than when new. 38 now 35 and under.
