Re: FruitCake
From a company in the town where I grew up ...
"Beatrice Bakery Co. is home of Grandma’s Original Fruit & Nut Cakes. Since 1917 this fruitcake recipe has been a holiday favorite to many because of the quality ingredients, hand decorated beauty, and the allure of its secret baking method. As can be seen on the Food Network’s Unwrapped program Dec. 11, 12, 13, 14, and 18th."
I'm sure now you'll all be glued to the TV tomorrow night!
Quick sidenote: When I was a freshman in college, my Dad gave me a Christmas present he made - a beautiful bar using 3 barrels (brandy, bourbon, & rum) he got from Grandma's Fruitcake factory. The two end barrels are 3/4 round and the center barrel is 1/2 round. He used the remaining barrel slats to build 2 matching bar stools. The bar is very solid/heavy; however, all you have to do is remove 6 bolts and it breaks down into 5 pieces which can be easily moved. It survived all the college parties and still looks fantastic in our basement "party" room.
