  • Age of the 2nd, 3rd .....owners

After 10 years, knowing that some of these cars have been sold in the time to more than one owner, that will be interesting to know the actual age of those new owners EXCLUDING the first owner in this pool. Maybe, that will give us a better idea if the future of these cars will interest others generations.

So, this pool will give us a better idea if you are a second, third, and so on owner for these cars. The first owners are excluded in this pool as mentionned above.

Well, for the first owners, if you have to sell your cars, that poll is becoming to give you a good idea of what the next owners will be.

Yes....we must sell to them quickly before they die.

I have one sister at 56 years old that she will die in the following weeks due to the cancer. Maybe, before Christmas or the month after. It is quickly for her case.

Sorry but this is the reallity. The Tbirds cars could live for many years compare to us.

Sorry about my bad English. I am a French Canadian.

Very sorry to hear about your sister. Your English is just fine, no apology required. You don't want to hear my French.

Doesn't look like the younger folks are going to want this car. I suggest we get them out run the wheels off them, while there is still enough of us to do it. Sorry about your sister.
This is after 23 votes it may change.

In my area, younger people don't give the Tbird a second look; much less a comment. However they feel the same way about current Corvettes. They consider those for the 60+ year olds. They are more into Audis, BMWs, Hondas, Nissans, etc.

Young people do look at the TBird, but seem to prefer the room of a larger car to cart friends and belongings in. I'm certain you're just going too fast and miss the furtive longing glances of young people who have realized the car that is missing from their life is passing before them and then gone. A sort of visual presque vu experience for them.

When I'm around young adults, they do long for a Tbird. It just doesn't fit in with their present life style nor pocketbook (they look at it as a pleasure car not a gopher car).
Randy, I'm presently running the tires off mine but I certainly don't want to run the wheels off. There are young people on this forum but they just don't check in as often as we do.

I enjoy the little ones in car seats staring at something they haven't seen before.

Looks like: "If you weren't born before the '55-'57s came out, you're not interested."
I guess that if you didn't lust after the original, you'd probably go for the Jag XK-8 instead. ... mechanically very similar, different look & attitude, about the same $$.

For the time being, we only have one exception in this poll. Having his comments will be valuable.

Note: sorry about my English written, I know that poll is not the same as pool...

                            Thanks.

I don't think the age of the people who bought these Thunderbirds used are any much different than those who bought them new. I bought one of my cars new and one used.

These cars will most likely not ever really get down the the lower age groups. When you see a Corvette it is usually someone who is 40+ regardless of whether it's new or 20 years old. I think the retro styled T-Birds kind of fit in that same group. I see them somewhat as a specialty car so they generally are a little more babied and well maintained. Even used, most will be in pretty good shape and will continue to appeal to the same type of people.
