Alain, I would like to commend you on your participation in this forum where English is the common language, and your first language is French. Coming from the inverse situation, where I learned French as a second language, I know of the challenges associated with communicating precisely in a language other than your first.

All to say - well done and keep contributing to this forum. We all know what message you are conveying. I wish I could participate as well in a forum where the first language is French !

My Many Thanks to all of you.

Because of that , I was planning a TBN event in Québec city this year. I forgot this because I received some negative comments from my English written and I did not receive any support at all. The purpose of this TBN event was to have some TBN members in a French Community to make a difference in their life. I am so sorry about that, it will not take place.

However, if someone would like to take any vacation in Quebec city during this
summer, just let me know. I know pretty well this city. It is a very nice place
during the summer and it will be a pleasure for me to be with them.

Furthermore, I am proud to be on this website, just to make the difference and to learn about many useful topics.

I would like to thank all of the members who are participating on this forum.

By the way, you have a very nice car. You are the exception. I would not to show you mine...

          Thanks,
          Alain

                  Thanks Jim.

Recently, I have received some PM messages that some members would like to be on Quebec city this summer. Members fron western Canada and Mid-West USA. I was surprised.

Because my wife and myself are still working, it will take place at the last weekend in August. I was planning the third weekend but my wife will be working at that time. At the end of August, the weather will be good, not to cold and not to hot if you would like to visit the old Québec city, it will be a good temperature.

It will not a TBN event, it is to make and maintain a good relationship between the members in a french community in North America.

Just let me know if you would like to see the oldest city in North America at that time. There is a story behind that.

If others members would like to join me, just to provide to me a PM.

I know a very not expensive hotel to stay and it is comfortable.

For the time being, there is a snow storm here. So, we have now a very good Christmas time!

                  My many thanks,
                  Alain

Hi Jim, here additionnal information if you would like to come:

                    http://www.hotellecofortelquebec.com...c-428-home.cfm

It is not an expensive one. Because this hotel has an
"U" shape, it is better to have the room inside the "U" shape. Then, the car is more secure inside the "U" than outside. Because, there are parking lots inside and outside the "U" shape. It will be the last weekend in August. It will be not too hot and not too cold.

I will see if others members will be interested.

                    Thanks,
                    Alain

Also, forgiveness is usually easier to receive than permission.

Would only sell it if the car started costing me to much or if I couldn't find replacement parts.

I've owned 53 cars since 1955. I will tire of this one, I'm sure. But it has been about a year and a half, and I'm not there yet! Still love it!

No matter how much I like, or dislike, a car, there's always a sad moment when I sell a car. Even my Fairmont wagon (packing her up for Wildwood) and my 66 Comet Cyclone convert (driving it down to Miami on our honeymoon) held some great memories.

There's a lot of memories tied up in a car, such as vacation trips, taking the kids (when they were young) out for ice cream, even the bargaining process with the dealer and the first day you brought it home.

To me, cars are tough to sell, but homes are tougher.

I've been in my house since 1980. I can only imagine what it would/will be like to turn the keys over to a new owner.

                              Not looking forward to it.
