  • Script and Wings

I have a question for anyone who has removed the script from the rear quarter panels or the wings from the trunk lid. What are the backs of the script or Wings like? Are they smooth? Is there protruding studs that if I file them off the surface will be flat? I want to use these to stamp leather with the back side and leave th impression on the leather. I just don't want to buy them and find out they won't work for me.

    Thanks in advance. Ted.

Ted, the quarter panel scripts are flat as a pancake. Just spoke with Greg Nelson who has recently removed the wings from his car and he has advised that there are three prongs that would have to be removed.

As some know I traveled with Ted to Poppasito's . The handmade leather soft case he traveled with was excellently made by hand. When he gets a T-Bird logo/script on it, we'll all want one.

Thanks Bill, I'll order a script and large wing and see how it works out. I did get a small wing from Spence but I think I'll have to fill in the back of it after I cut off the protutions, maybe some JB Weld and file it down afterwards.

      Thanks again. Ted.
