Correct, it ain’t gonna make it. You need a 50 series spare. I’m not concerned about the small diameter difference to the 55s on the car as it will only be used briefly if ever. Would have the same difference with the Maxxis. From now on I’ll be buying all 50 series.

Spare Tire Replacement Question

I took the bird to the tire dealer. He is suggesting putting a full size radial boat trailer tire on the spare's rim that would be the same diameter and height as the compact spare. The trailer tire runs at 32psi instead of the 60 psi of the compact and cost about $75.00. Since reading the reply here, I am going to contact Maxxis before deciding. I think I like the idea to keep it stock if a OEM tire is available. Thoughts about the trailer tire idea?

Part of my job is checking spare tire pressure and I can guarantee you that none of the 1-5 year old cars has 60 psi in them. We do pump them back up to 60. I'm not anal about it in my own car. Some people here appear to be way too anal.
