  • "Retro Thunderbird" - New Paperback Book About Our Cars

I noticed this today on eBay and then found it on Amazon for less. I ordered one just out of curiosity, after all, it does have the best color car on the cover. Looks like it has only been available since Dec 2019. Thought some of the rest of you might be interested as well.

Greg doesn't use google. It's much easier to ask others to do it.
Unbelivable TBN trips including ALL of the lower 48 States plus 9 Canadian Provinces, 8 European Countries, 3 Caribbean Countries, Countless National Parks and have attended well over 100 TBN Events since 2001 and counting. Best of all ... fabulous friends.

All I wanted to know was if he's a TBNer. I got rid of all my Thunderbird books..

Subtitle, "How it Failed" is a turnoff for me.

To me, my family, immediate and extended into Thunderbird clubs and of course TBN, the Retro is/was NEVER a failure.

The car was never built to have a continuous production life. It filled a design team's desire & buyer's desire for some thing with a touch of nostalgia for a two seater cruiser that was only to have a 100,000 unit production run.

Production stopped at 68,000 or thereabouts for many reasons, but in my opinion the car did not fail.

I think he needs to speak to his copy editor(s) and request a partial refund.
First sentence of Chapter 2 in sample.

The author, Don Nauru’s, wrote a great book on the Chrysler Town & Country convertibles from real woodies to the plastic versions of the K-Cars. We used to own a 1984 Town & Country plastic woody convertible originally owned by Hal Sperlich, who was President of Chrysler in the early 80’s. It had special things on it and I had a letter from Hal confirming those things. It helped me sell it to an avid collector in the 90’s.

The car did not fail. Ford intentionally failed the car with poor marketing to give Mustang the edge. My humble opinion.
