Many of you have been following the travels of Steve Legel as he has made his way west. His nearly daily logs of his trip have made interesting reading. A true travelogue.
Since he had made it to Portland, I called him last night and I went to meet him at the Red Lion. This is where most of the Classic Thunderbird owners are staying for their annual conference.
Although tired from his day, he was gracious enough to share some wine and take me around to see many of the classic 55-57 birds in a cordoned off area of the parking lot. He then brought me around to meet some of the owners during a cocktail hour. A highlight was the opportunity to meet Dot and her husband, who had driven from their home in Rhome TX for the event.
Steve day tripped out to the coast today, and I would have loved to have caravaned with him, but work has pulled me back to the office.
This was the "turning point" in his trip as he will have visited the Altantic, and now the Pacific ocean during this venture. I wish him a pleasurable time during the remainder of this adventure.
