  • Bye Bye Shorebird

Well I just traded my '02 Blue in for a new AWD sedan. It was a great ride, but we are expecting our first grandchild back in the northeast. So no more T Bird as a daily driver with frequent trips back north, and no infant seats allowing in front seat.

I wish all my friends and fellow political debating society members here all the best. I'll still visit from time to time. Thanks for all the great friendships and info over the years.

If you look closely at the pics below you will see the TBN badge on the grill.

    Cheers,
    Bill T

ps FYI - I got $15,250 in trade. here's a link to the car. If anyone is interested it just had its 30k service last year, and no problems.

Best of luck, Bill! Words can't begin to describe the joy your grandchild will bring you. Make sure you post pictures after the birth. Please send me a note when you finally see the light politically! :-)

          Bill,
You certainly know how much I will hate to see you go. As you know, we had much in common other than our interest in Tbirds. You are a gentleman and a scholar. I wish you all the best.

Bill, Congratulations on the coming grandchild. but my solution would have been to get another 'bird and drive two up, though it sounds like you're a one car family.

(what's with no infant seat allowed in the front? - family choice or something else?)

              Dot:

Many states, including Maryland, do not allow child seats in the front seat of vehicles. It's the air bag issue, among other things. It is alao the recommendation of most traffic safety organizations as well. In Maryland, a child must be 12 years old, or a minimum weight to ride in the front. My grandson Seth won't be able to ride in my Bird for 8 more years, and my granddaughter Madelyn 11 more years. Bummer.

I checked into this in Texas a couple of years ago. It's only a recommendation in this state from the child safety board. Since the passenger side airbag can be turned off on the tbird and no grandkids living in the state, it's not something I worry about.
