Heater stops blowing

Hello,

After travelling on the interstate a while, the heater almost stops blowing any air at all. The air that kind of oozes out of the vents is still warm, it's just that the volume of air expected goes practically to zero. However, I can hear it making its sound up under the glove as usual. If I turn the heater off for a while, maybe half hour or an hour, then it begins to blow warm air again even though I don't stop driving. Any help is appreciated.

See if it will blow with the A/C, and check your temperature settings and recirculating switch. Leroy

It is suppose to operate that way. The blower motor whether you are in heat or AC is automatically controled by the DATC(DualAirTempControl) module based on the temperature settings, but can be overriden by adjusting your blower speed rocker button.

If the interior is cold at first start up the temp. senser will wait until the engine warms up then it will "allow" the blower to come on to a higher speed, as the interior warms the blower speed will drop off to its automatic setting. This process is also true when starting the car when the interior is very warm from sitting in the summer temperatures. The blower will come on high to speed up the cooling of the AC and as the set temperture is reached the blower will slow down or lower its speed to its automatic setting.

Again, you can override the blower speed by adjusting its rocker switch.
