    Hi All!

I bought a replacement cabin filter but stopped short of actually installing it. I was able to access the old filter but could not pull it out. I can see that it appears it's encased in a holder of sorts. Are there tabs on this holder? If so, where are they and how do I release them? I removed the first five pins in the cowling (starting at the passenger side).
Any and all help is appreciated!

      Re: cabin filter

I recommend loosening all plugs to get the most slack from the cover.

Look at the new filter. You'll see where the flaps have to be pryed just a little bit to free the old filter.

      It's a piece of cake.

Just changed mine out and the tab with the square hole to the center of the car is what was holding mine in place. Just pry up (out toward the center of the car) the tab and the filter pops up. Had a bit of a problem with mine getting it to slide all the way back in - Used a WIX replacement filter.

Could not believe mine was a dirty as it was. To those that suggested just leaving it out please don't - If that dirt etc gets inside the A/C it will be a MAJOR problem. As they say pay now or pay later.

Just so you know, there is a screen mesh behind the filter. As Jerry mentioned there are 2 tabs that need to be lifted a little - for sure go to Spence's post; he is the master when it comes to step by step instructions, he missed his calling, there are a few "some assembly required" instructions that I wish Spence had written.

Then what about every other car that I owned, none of them had cabin filters and no problems????
