  • Front bumper material

Just nudged into wall and front bumper has a crack. What is the material and could it be just a paint crack and not bumper? Thoughts? Can't tell by viewing it up close.

I "nudged a wall" with my front bumper and it also cracked ... It had been 'bondoed' BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER and now I have an expensive repair to do it right or maybe i'll just continue the bondo epidemic on it.. looked great until this incident.

Just made me sick. I really did just nudge the wall. Not sure if mine is a bondo deal but I have a pretty good paint and repair person so I intend on asking him about it. Just did it today.

Well here is the good news maybe. Unless your cashmere is unique, the front fascia does not match your front fenders or hood. Maybe after repair it will.

UNLESS THINGS HAVE CHANGED IN THE LAST TEN YEARS, NO FORDS COME FROM THE FACTORY WITH BONDO.

New front bumper plus paint job cost us (and AARP/Hartford) $1,500.

I scraped my bumper on a large curb bump and have used the spot retouch paint that I bought at Ford. To smooth out the ridges I have used scratch remover from Macquiars. You can tell up really close, but not from 3-4 feet away. I talked to a shop about repainting but was advised to wait until closer to selling it since I could easily get more similar scratches.
