Hello
If you read my recent thread, please recall that I had a paint mismatch that I did not notice at the time of purchase. Later, I discovered it.
I just had a large portion of the car repainted. It turned out wonderfully. They mentioned they used a special clear that they normally do not use, as it is more costly, but is better.
They also installed the chrome hood scoop and replaced the non-functioning taillight bulb.
The longer I own this car, I find the more I like the black color. I know it is common, and so possibly less desirable, but it sure does have a rich appearance.
Of course, I am not driving a bargain here with having to buy the boot and then repainting most of the car. But the most important thing here is that I finally like the car.
Never buy a car on a cloudy day! It is almost impossible to assess the paint. I noticed at a local dealer that a Corvette had been repainted in the front, and that the texture and tone were off slightly. That was on a sunny day. I went there again on a cloudy day, and although I tried, I could not tell the difference--and I knew about it.
