Not sure if this has been braught up before but the subject came up recently at a car show. Can you write up a ESP for owners of retro birds in Canada ?
    Thanks for your time,

I have confirmed with the ESP Administration that a US dealer can sell an ESP contract to a Canadian customer. The only difference is that it will be a US contract and therefore, US policies will apply. The example given was with cancellation, the contract cancellation rules will be the US contract rules vs. Canadian cancellation policies.

Call me for details and pricing at your convenience.

Thank you Lou. Will take your info back to the discussion group and get back to you if there is enough interest. (As there should be). We have a gathering in Ottawa this weekend.

Lou just saved us over $1,500 on a 36K/36Mo E.S.P. for our '03 Thunderbird with 57,000 miles on the clock. After just spending $1,900 for a transmission fix (the dreaded "E" light) last week, and reading about some of the other potential problems, we decided to go for some protection. The dealer mark up on e.s.p. plans is surprising, so I'd recommend that if you are thinking about one, check with Lou.

              Lou -

Is Florida the only State that you cannot serve? Or, are there other States with similar exclusions?

We feel so left out when we read about the premiums that we pay compared to what you offer to T Birders in other States.

Prospective Florida customers, take note: As I've said before, Lou can and does serve Florida. I'm living proof. I bought mine from Lou, as a Floridian in Florida, while Tom was having problems buying his. Others have, too. Mine has since been honored in and out of Florida.

I would strongly advise going with ESP to a vast majority of Retro TBird owners - IMO our Retro TBird is NOT nearly as reliable as the previous Tbird platforms (& they too have "issues" like every car does) - My opinion based on 13 years of maintaining a more complex 96 MKVIII version of the previous platform.

Thanks for that Bill. Your local dealer, as I mentioned to you yesterday was really trying to mug you on the price of the same ESP I set up for you. On the average I save TBN members $700.

                        To All TBN Members:
Whether you are determined to buy an ESP or not, I will be happy to answer any questiosn you have about Ford's ESP program. You might learn something helpful about the plans avaiable to you and/or the price that would cause you to invest in some protection against the high cost of a future repair.

If Bill had the Premium Care ESP when the 'E' light went on he would have been out only the $100 deductible, and given a free loaner to drive while it was in the shop.

Think about it- I won't even mention an engine or trans failure because it only takes one electronics issue and that repair bill could be as much or more than the entire cost of an ESP that would cover your TBird bumper-to-bumper for 36-48 or even 60 months.

Give me a call with any questions you have, I do not pressure anyone to buy. You'll get information on ESP, pricing and then you can do whatever you like. We'll still be TBN friends whether you buy an ESP from me or not.

                          Hey Bud:

Glad to know your paperwork made it to you in short order. You won't need the paperwork when you pull into any FORD dealer for service. Your Premium care ESP is registered on line and the service advisors will pull it up by your VIN. It was a pleasure helping you out with the ESP.

                            Re: extended service program

I just bought my 03 bird and after several days the check gas cap light came on. See the how to fix forum for the fix. Bottom line is $1200.00 later I am fixed. I called Lou and got the ESP 5 Year 60,000 for $1795.00 (No Rental Car). The local Ford dealer quoted $2450 for the same thing. Thanks to Lou. It only took a couple of minutes to get the coverage. The only thing you have to do is have a used car inspection for $95.00 to get your coverage at a Ford dealer. Since I intend on driving my bird everyday, and I do not want unexpected big expenses I got the ESP. You still have to do all the consumable stuff like brakes, coolant, hoses and filter changes. Since I have the ESP it is important to follow the scheduled maintenance to keep from having hassles over coverage. I am a DIYer and will change my own oil and brakes. I just keep receipts and document the periodic maintenance to maintain your for a lack of better words, warranty.

                              Hi GDon:

Thanks for the mention here over what I was able to do for you. This morning I did another Premium Care for a TBN member in CA. Just saved him $800 off retail for the 36/36,000.

You wrote, "I do not want unexpected big expenses I got the ESP."

It really comes down to that. If nothing happens you had a realtively inexpensive peace of mind for 5 years. If something does go wrong with a TBird the owner who has Ford's ESP will be very glad they did.

Anyone else who wants information can call me at my dealership number, which is: 630-925-7590.

BTW, 2002 owners your TBird's 10th birthday is not far off. If you ever want an ESP for it you have to get the ESP before it's 10th birthday. After that there is nothing you can do to get one.

                              Thanks again,

                              Lou
