That is the remote FOB not the TBIRD Key. Different story when programming.
The FOB only requires one other FOB to make a 5 minute copy.

How does an extra fob help to replace a key?

I bought a key with remote for the alarm, I don't think I can make it work but I'm hoping.
if not i ill glue the chip next to the ignition so I can make other keys for starting the car

If I understand right, I must have a working remote control for be able to program a new remote control?
I only have a service key I think because there are no botons on my key

Fredrik 1:to program a remote(fob) you do not need another working fob, but if you already have a working fob and want a second one ,both have to be programmed at the same time.
2 your key has a chip in it otherwize you could not start the car..if you only have one key, to get a second key(with chip) programmed you need a professional to do ie dealer,key shop.ACE ect.. it and it usually cost $$$$ but if you have two keys with chips then it is possible to program a third yourself. so its best to have 3 and lose one all you need is new key

I have locked in the car in the garage I rent and my only carkey in my hunt safe and that key I have locked in another safe and that safe in another safe and I did eat the code to the last safe and I never forget the code........hmmm mm i think I forgot the code now. Can a x-ray see the text from a Marker pen?
Or i must drive to Denmark to get help?

read my original first post I have ordered a third key with an integrated remote from amazon I got two for 35.00 waiting till they arrive to see if I can program them. I did check a local locksmith he said he could get the same but it would cost 210.00(programmed) I never did check ACE for price .

note: when I got car I had ford dealer sell me the extra keys and program them but I did not think about the combined key

You should be able to program the key yourself since you have 2 keys .
This key is simply a key and FOB in one package. Your will need to program the key and then you will need to program the FOB.

You are our test victim.
One more thing. When I got extra keys from Amazon, they sent the wrong Key. It would only work withe door lock. Sent them back and got another set that worked.
The Ford dealer even made the wrong key for me one time.

We are all waiting.

The after maket FOB's I got from Amazon are not as good as the Ford ones. The switch buttons are mushy.

I have these for Merlot. Been a while since I got them, so I don't recall where. Do remember is was an easy Google search and they weren't too dear.

Update - Search good ol' Amazon for US Remote.

Amazon says it does not fit my 2002 Thunderbird. So, it may be a 2003-5 thingy.
