Gas Price Update - Late July '08

After the over 8000 miles we put on in the previous 6-7 weeks, gasoline prices are finally starting to fall some. While they are still high, we could have saved a decent amount of money if they had been closer to today's price in little Tahlequah, OK.

I bought regular unleaded for the Focus today at $3.589 and premium was available for $3.789. Until this year who would have ever thought that we would consider those numbers bargains.

I heard today that the average price around the country is still $3.96/gallon. Hard to believe we are almost $.40/gallon under the average.

It would be nice if this trend continued into October for the trip to Las Vegas!

When I go to the OU games I plan it so that I hit Ardmore on my way home on fumes. I then fill up to the point where I can see the gas in the filler neck. Much easier to do in Oklahoma since they do not have those aggravating "Do Not Top Off" devices on the nossels. The Oklahoma gas prices are usually a bit less than in my area of Texas and I do not believe the gas is seasonally formulated resulting in an increase of 2 MPG and at times I get even more than that.

Mid. $4.19 average price
Prem.$4.299-$4.499
The reason were higher is all gas has to be barged in by boat

$3.38 for Reg. is the lowest I've seen in Springfield. $3.58 for prem.

Still really high here in CA, I just paid $4.59 for premium. It was over $70 to fill up my Miss Sally.

For Las Vegas, regular has been in the $3.97 to $3.99 range. Premium has been around $4.17 to $4.19 lately. It would be nice to get that under $4 again too.

$3.38 for Reg. is the lowest I've seen in Springfield. $3.58 for prem.

Ed, if you guys aren't the lowest price in the country you surely must be close to it! Lucky you.

87 fell here today to $3.899
89 unchanged still $4.019 and up
93 unchanged still $4.189 and up

Just 4 days later, Today. Gas fell to 3.799 for 87 here. 89 is down to 3.929, and 93 still hover's up at 399.9. Sooooooo, seeing that sign, I took the truck to fill it up at 3.799. Still came to $60.00 however. Bird & Stang remain covered in their rrespective nest/stall's.

$3.58 for BP Regular / $3.85 for BP Gold Premium

Headed to Charlotte to for the Panthers/Colts game this weekend so I will see what the prices are in the metro Charlotte area.
