I am thinking of getting some seat covers fo my 03. The only reason I would like them is because my seats are black and when the sun is out they are like siting on a hot griddle! Has anyone tried the ones Thunderbird Concepts sells? They look good but are a bit pricy.

Re: Seat Covers
Allen, if you're looking for something a bit sportier you might consider these: The Charcoal and Black would go well with your Mountain Shadow Grey.Attached Files

Re: Seat Covers
I've seen those on the net. I'm not really fond of seat covers. The only reason I'm thinking about them is because of how hot they get come top down time. My seats are fine and it's a shame to put covers on them. I am tired of using a white towel.

Re: Seat Covers
Well, that's kind of the point of seat covers ... protection from heat, stains, spills, etc. Custom-fit covers would seem to be a better solution than a towel, but whatever works for you.
If interior heat is a problem you might consider an interior cover, windshield screen or something like that.

Re: Seat Covers
When I had a Vet I found a washable set that slipped over the bucket seats real nice. They had the Vet flags on the seat backs and I got a lot of complements about them. Too bad there's nothing out there like that for the retro Birds.

Re: Seat Covers
Carid.com also has leather seat covers for $500. I'm not sure whether these go over your seats or are a replacement for the original leathers. They may be an option for those with seat problems either way. Airbags will still work btw.

Re: Seat Covers
Years ago they had a mesh seat cusion with springs in it that sat on the seat. They were real popular in Fl and inexpensive. Many truckers used them so they may be at a truck stop. Not a dress up feature but functional. They were the other kind of cool.

Re: Seat Covers
Ron, I know what you're talking about but haven't seen them around forever. These days it's more of those round beaded seat inserts (covers). I never tried those as the a/c worked and couldn't imagine the beads being more comfortable than the actual seat. Of course, Fl. truckstops may have other options available but I never saw any on my trips down and I hit lots of truckstops.
