Did you ever have someone check the numbers for you? I found out that there is only 505 Medium steel Blue built the same as mine. Not too rare but rare enough as there was only 1452 MSBs

I checked the build count on my MSB and it is one of only 142. Premium model, sand package - interior and softtop - 7 spoke wheel, MSB HT.

Having the color match on the cashmere I prefer the hard top being the same color, BUT the black does not look that bad. Some combinations I like better than others, but really have not seen a bad looking bird.

I personally like matching colors for the top and the bottom.
Then again our top has been on only twice in 7 years and sits stored and covered in the garage so it could be almost any color.
You could leave it alone if you only use it occasionally
