Picky point that needs input from owners, particularly if bought Your Tbird NEW.
Well Dot went to check for you and found this going on! So $152.00 later for charging system check and new battery and all is well. The spare will need repaint but trunk is ok. Oh and yeah mine is round!
That picture alone is going to cause me to examine mine!

My cap is round, just like yours. Model year is 2003.
Build date is puzzling; sticker on door jam says 3/03, Lou Martin told me from the VIN the in service date was Feb 2003. Web site posted on TBN Aug 2011 (www.compnine.com) gave me a build date of 01-24-03 when I input the VIN. Take your pick.

Thinking back, I remember finding that part loose in the trunk or in the spare tire well. Now where did I put that think. I assume that the part screws on the stem, or does it?
If you've never removed the spare and are missing the part, check in the well. It may have come off and be under the tire or somewhere down there.
